Fruit and Citrus • Pests

Hi Fran,

There are a few pests that will attack strawberry plants. They include snails and slugs (which you will easily identify by the slimy trails that are left behind) birds, which you have already mentioned, caterpillars and two spotted mites. It is likely that the holes in your fruit is from birds and the best way to protect your fruit is by covering them with a net which you are already doing. Enjoy this delicious summer fruit.
