What are there holes in my strawberry leaves

I have a strawberry in a pot although its not an overly big plant I get enough berries.A few weeks ago(late Feb)the leaves began looking holey & some are yellow & just sad looking but the fruit has not been touched & are still big & tasty.

Hi Wendy,

You could have caterpillars eating your strawberry leaves. Also check to make sure there are no snails about. Snails will leave a slimy trail behind so you will know if they are the culprits. It is most likely to be caterpillars. To control these pests, you can spray with either Nature's Way Caterpillar Killer, Dipel or Success Ultra. To encourage some new growth, apply a fertiliser called Yates Dynamic Lifter Liquid Concentrate. It's a organically certified fertiliser, which contains seaweed, blood&bone and fish meal to help developing new roots and restoring healthy growth.
