How can I protect my young passionfruit vine from frost?

how can I protect my young passionfruit vine from frost please?

Fruit and Citrus • Physical Damage

Hi Patricia,

Passionfruit prefer to grow in a sunny spot in a frost free zone. I am not sure how severe the frost get in your part of the world. The only thing that I can suggest is that you put a cover over it when frost as expected. That is probably easier said than done as I know the vine can extend for may metres. Yates does make a product called Yates Waterwise DroughtShield. When this product is sprayed onto the leaf, it forms a protective thin polymer film to protect the leaf. It will only protect plants from light frosts, not heavy frosts. I wish you luck in growing your passionfruit vine.
