Why are there holes in my passionfruit leaves?

It is about 2 years old, flowered in June (!) with no fruit. I had the same problem last year with the holes ...it freshened up but I notice the new growth is getting the holes too whereas last year that didn't happen. I have looked for snails and insects but found only one snail which I removed before the new growth starrted.

Hi Qwenith,

The chewing damage is quite large and could be due to possums. Have you noticed any in your backyard recently? Possums tend to run along fence lines and eat the new leaves and flowers. Yates has a wonderful new product available - Yates Possum Repellent Spray helps protect your precious plants by deterring possums from browsing on sprayed plants.
Features
Contains a special combination of ingredients that help reduce possums browsing on plants.
Lasts for up to 7 days or more with regular re-treatment.
Can be used on ornamental and edible plants and has only a 1 day withholding period.
The formulation was developed by Professor Lynne Selwood and is protected by a patent granted to the University of Melbourne. If possible look at the vine in the early evening when caterpillars and snails are easier to find and destroy.
