Dear Zenith,

Sorry to hear that your cumquat tree is failing to bear fruit. It does sound like it is healthy in that it produces lots of flower but it is unfortunate that it is not setting fruit. If your plant is in a pot or if it is planted in the garden, make sure that it is planted into a good quality potting mix or well composed soil, is placed in a well protected, full sun position, is watered regularly and the pot or garden bed is well drained. Now that it is spring, you can apply a slow release fertiliser such as Yates Thrive Natural Citrus & Fruit Pelletised Plant Food. It's enriched with Dynamic Lifter and has added nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium to give your fruiting plants the right balance of nutrients for their growing needs. It is likely that the tree will not hold onto all its flowers, but it should be able to produce a good number of healthy fruits. Make sure that the tree is well watered as it is setting fruit and is protected from strong winds at this time of the year. Regular applications of seaweed extract will encourage healthy flowering, fruiting and root growth. Trust with this extra treatment, your tree will produce lots of cumquats for you this year.
