Spring is the ideal time to take rope hoya cuttings. Begin by cutting 5" - 7" tips from firm stems then remove some of the lower leaves to allow a 2" bare stem for planting. Water once and not again until dry. While the plant is establishing roots keep the potting media on the dry side. Cuttings should receive some direct sunlight. If they are placed close to a window their leaves will remain tight with no big gaps. It may take a few weeks if not longer to see the leaves firm up, it can be slow with this hoya.
