What's eating the edges of my LillyPillys leaves?
My lillypilly's have the edges of the leaves chewed, but there is no sign of pest or grub. There is small droppings on the leaves but am not sure that it is associated. Do you have any idea for a spray that could be used to control the pests? Thanks in advance for your assistance. Tim
Dear Tim,
If the leaves have been chewed it is likely that the damage is being done by a caterpillar. There are a couple of products you can use, one being Success Naturalyte or Nature's Way Caterpillar Killer, Dipel. Both of these products will control a wide range of caterpillars. When spraying make sure all surface area of the leaves is sprayed. The insects will stop eating immediately but may take up to 3 days to die. You may need to repeat the spray every 7 - 14 days to get the situation under control.
