Why does my lemon fruit have small holes all over the skin?

Lemons have small holes all over skin of fruit.

Thanks for contacting Yates. It may be that you have a fruit fly issue with the lemons. Small holes on the outside of the fruit can indicate this. To confirm, remove the fruit and cut in half, you may see some larvae in the fruit itself which will confirm that it is fruit fly. You can also set a trap to ascertain whether you have a fruit fly issue as well. It can be applied as a foliar spray at the base of the tree or in a baited system.
