Product details

How

For early sowing, raise in pots of Yates Seed Raising Mix in a well-lit, protected spot. Transplant after 3-4 weeks. For direct sowing press 3-4 seeds into mounds of moist soil 70cm apart. Later thin to the two strongest plants. Or sow direct into 40cm pots.

Care

Select a sunny, well-drained position. Add compost and Yates Blood & Bone before sowing. Keep well watered at base of plant.  Pick fruit when small for best yield and flavour. Protect from snails and slugs with Yates Blitzem.

Hint

Great companion plant for beans, corn, radish, basil and nasturtium. For heavier crops, brush pollen from male flowers onto female flowers (with swollen base). Keep well mulched.

Storage

Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
