This easy-to-grow, rich red, globe-shaped root has sweet tender flesh. It's very versatile in the kitchen, being equally popular in summer salads or in warm winter dishes.
Choose a sunny, well-drained spot in the garden. Dig soil well and add Yates Blood & Bone before planting. Form a groove about 1cm deep into the moist soil. Place the tape flat in the bottom of the groove (remember the tape can be cut to any length) and lightly cover. Keep well watered. Allow 30cm between rows. Thin young plants if necessary.
Apply Yates Thrive Soluble Plant Food regularly and keep seedlings well watered. Make successive sowings every few weeks. Protect from snails and slugs with Yates Blitzem.
Great companion plant for beans, broccoli, lettuce, onions, potatoes and peas. Pick young leaves and add to salad mixes.
Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
