What can I use to kill fruit fly on my lemon tree?

Hi there, I live in Canberra and for the first time ever my Lemon tree is under attack from Fruit fly. The fruit fly problem is spreading to other crops in my garden. I have tried using the 'baiting' method where you apply a band of baited insecticide around the base of tree, but this is not helping. Can I use a Systemic Insecticide? If so what should I use? I dont even have words to express how annoyed I am that these little buggers have moved in.

Hi Caroline,

Unfortunately we don't have a systemic control for fruit fly any more only the Natures way fruit fly control. There are some other methods that maybe helpful from agricultural websites.
