Do Matthew Flinders callistemon leaves get diseases?
Mathew Flinders callistemon is flowering abundantly, new growth bright green, however problem with established leaves - dull green/dark red with some dark spots. In sandy soil, slow release native fertilizer, plenty of sunshine, 3 years old.
Hi Barbara,
Callistemon leaves can become mottled with dark purple spots which is caused by leaf spot diseases. These diseases are generally not very serious and do not require treatment. Keep the plant as healthy as possible but if the disease becomes severe then apply some Mancozeb Plus.
