Hard armoured scale on hydrangeas and gardenias

I have had 4 hydrangeas and 1 gardenia die and when I inspected, the stems were covered in hard brown/black armoured scale. I used your scale gun but it did not have any effect. What can I do to save my remaining hydrangeas and gardenias

Hi Kathryn,

Thank you for contacting Yates.

To control heavily infested scales, it is best use a brush to physically remove the most infestation with soapy water before apply Scale Gun weekly. Also, dead scales may remain on the plant for a few weeks after spraying. If you have any concern about the product, please do not hesitate to contact further or email us at consumer.advice.yates@yates.com.au

Hope this helps and happy gardening :)
