My gardenia Florida need a good trim but I am worried it will affect the flowering next season.

I have finally got them to grow in a semi-circle around the path but they are too high and haven't been trimmed for a few years. When and how short should they be trimmed?

Now (March) would be an excellent time to prune a Gardenia Florida. The plants have nearly finished flowering (Spring to Autumn flowering) but will still put on some new growth before the cool weather arrives.
- Make sure the plants are well watered prior to pruning.
- Avoid pruning anymore than a third of total foliage.
- Remove dead, diseased or damaged plant material.
- For optimal growth and prolific flowering, feed regularly with Yates Thrive Natural Roses & Flowers Organic Based Pelletised Plant Food.
