Why does my Bird of Paradise plan have black spots on its leaves

i live in tasmania and my plant is planted outside. is it because we have had a very cold winter. i have 3 plants growing but only one has lots of black spots on top side of leaves.

Hi Anita,

I'd recommend that you remove the affected leaves in the first place, and bin them to avoid any further transmission of disease. You could spray it with Yates Leaf Curl Copper Fungicide Spray which will deal with the Fungal Leaf Spot also, but it depends on how wide spread the issue is. Hopefully the warmer weather will also help the plant to get a good growth spurt and flush new foliage. Kind regards Ben
