What is causing bulges in bottlebrush branches & how do I stop it?

Bulges in branches as attached pic & also some leaves/branches have been stripped.

Australian Natives • Pests

Thank you for contacting Yates.

Looks like the plant has grown a gall along the stem, this is caused by insects laying eggs inside the stem, which could be wasps, beetles. Unfortunately, we haven't got any products registered against this pest. Best to prune and dispose of the bulged section to prevent further infestation.

Hope this helps and happy gardening :)
