What has stripped the bark off my Meyer Lemon, Lime and Mandarin

The inside of the truck has been exposed but there is no obvious damge on this section ie: teeth/beak marks. The branches that has been stripped have been done in almost perfectly straight lines with squares edges at the top and bottom. There are small pieces of bark on the ground under the trees. Some of the more badly damges branches on the lime are dying. Not so on the other two at this stage. It is happening in the centre of the trees at least 40cm above ground level. Any ideas. I took a brach to my local garden cetnre and they could offer no assistance.

Fruit and Citrus • Home Pest

Dear Heather,

I am so sorry to hear of the damage that is being inflicted on your citrus trees. It does sound like it could be bird damage. Do you have white cockatoos in your area? They can be a very destructive bird. Your best option would be to cover your trees with some netting to protect them from further damage. Good luck.
