I have grown Dahlias that have been 1.7 metres in height (Guernsey in Channel Islands off France ) to 0.8 metres in height in Tasmania. Now when I go to buy dahlia plants, all I get are these silly little plants about 0.2-0.25 m high, which never grow to a decent size. Do you know of any nursery in South east Qld near to Deception Bay that sell proper sized dahlia bushes.Thank you, Frank

We regret we are unable to advise you of a dahlia bulb stockist in your area but you will be happy to know there are many taller growing dahlias (Delbard Dahlias) available for sale via mail-order from Rankins Roses.
How to grow dahlias in a garden from seed
Choose a spot in the garden that receives full sun.
Prepare the planting area well by digging in some compost & Yates Dynamic Lifter Soil Improver & Plant Fertiliser.
Sow Dahlias (Dahlia cvs) seeds directly where they are to grow or in trays of Yates Seed Raising Mix at a depth of 12mm.
Water gently and keep lightly moist through germination period. Take care not to over water during this period.
Once seedlings are 5-7cm tall, thin out or transplant into the prepared bed and water in well.
Mulch with an organic mulch, such as bark chips, sugar cane or pea straw.
Feed every 1 to 2 weeks with Yates Thrive Roses and Flowers Liquid Plant Food.
