Autumn is the ideal time to plant pansy seed. They take up to 28 days to germinate unless you have access to a heated propagation tray. If you wish to sow the seed now, take into account this germination time, the plants growing time and then flowering approximately 16 weeks down the track. These times are generalised so the first blooms may arrive earlier depending on the weather and fertilising. In any case, the delay in sowing means a shorter flowering season but this may not present as a huge concern to you if you just want to use the seed and enjoy the flowers. Happy sowing!
