Yellow mottling or bronzing of the leaves similar to lace bug damage. Significant distortion of flower and leaf buds. Fine webbing can be seen on heavy infestations.
New growth appears distorted with a whitish ‘mealy’ substance in the leaf axils.
New leaves distorted and yellow, foliage and stems covered in sooty mould, insects crowded on young leaves and shoots.
Insects are hard-shelled and congregate on the stems and the backs of the leaves. Can be hard or soft, brown or white.
