Do I need to replace the potting mix each time I replant a pot? I have a wall garden that needs replanting.

Answer: Hi Michelle,

It will depend upon how old the potting mix is and what you have grown in the pot. If you have only had shallow rooted plants such as annuals in your pots, you can certainly re-use the mix. You will need to add some more slow release fertiliser and top up with some fresh potting mix.

If you have had larger plants in the mix, the roots on those plants would have taken out all the nutrients from the potting mix and most of the surrounding soil as well. In this case it would be best to purchase some fresh potting mix.
