Barrier for the bottom of pot to minimize water and soil draining readily

What barrier do I use to minimize water and soil draining readily from the pot hole at the same time maintain the root health?

Answer: Hi Priyal,

To help minimise the amount of soil that may fall out from the bottom of the pot, a piece of netting or gauze can be placed across the hole prior to filling the pot with potting mix. Potting mix is free draining and so water will always drain from the hole.
If possible place the pot onto small feet rather than using a saucer, because if water is constantly in the saucer the soil may become water logged.
