can i use confidor on a rasberry bush?

I sprayed confidor on my rasberry vine 2 days ago. The vine has now turned yellow/brown/leaves have curled and 100% looks like it is going to die. I 'suspect' it was my neighbour who posioned the vine, but if rasberries react badly to confidor then its my fault. The condifor was also sprayed on citrus and cabbage at the same time and they are all fine.

Answer: Hi Monique,

It is not likely that the Confidor has caused the raspberry leaves to go yellow but we would point out that Confidor is not registered for use on raspberry or citrus. Confidor can be used on your cabbages to control grey cabbage aphid. There is a withholding period for certain insecticides and this withholding period should be observed. You will find such information on the back of the label.

Perhaps you might like to investigate more and see if your raspberry vine is being attacked by insects. There is a raspberry sawfly whose larvae that can do damage such as chewing of the leaves. Sap sucking insects such as aphids can also cause damage to the leaves. Spraying with Natrasoap should control these aphids.
