Peppermint, Roselle, and Tobacco

I want to plant Peppermint, Roselle, and Tobacco in my garden. I'm living in Charlton, VIC. Do you know what are the exact dates to plant these herbs in my area?

Thank you.

Answer: Hi Reut,

Thank you for contacting Yates with your gardening question. Roselle is a tropical annual plant that grows up to 2m tall. You may start sowing indoor with bottom heat around 25 degree and plant out in Oct. It’s about the same with your pepermint, sowing when the first frost finishes. With Tobacco, it’s illegal to grow your own in Australia and there will be a 50,000 fine for person who produce but does not hold a producer licence.

Hope this helps and happy gardening.

Best Regards,
