We have corn that stands about 120cm tall, are lovely and green and appear strong. we are new at gardening. when will flowers, or corn ears appear? we are close to 2 months since seedlings emerged. any advice appreciated.

Answer: Hi Bronwyn,

Hopefully you’ve planted them in a block as it aids with pollination when the flowers show. Plant to harvest can take anywhere 80 – 100 days, dependent on the variety.If you mulch the site also this will suppress weed and retain moisture in the soil.
If you only have a few plants, give the plants a bit of a shake to release the pollen from the male flowers at the top of the plant. This will aid pollination also.
