Hello, I have a Lilli Pilli trimmed to a cone shape that is losing leaves from the bottom up.

There is no sign of chewing, there are some new leaves and some yellow leaves, but the base is virtually bare. What could be causing this?

Answer: Hi Peter,

If the lilly pilly is in a pot it could be losing its leaves due to lack of water or sunlight. If there are curl grubs in the soil in the pot they can cause serious damage to the root system causing the plant to drop leaves.

Check the leaves carefully for myrtle rust which caused yellow/orange pustules on the leaves. This can be treated with Triforine.
