gardenia's on the eastern side of a wall. the ones that get less sun are growing better than ones with more?

they all only get partial sun due to narrowness of the part of garden they live in. the northern end of the row have not gown much at all since planting 18 months ago but the southern end are flourishing in less sun. they were all planted into the same brand new soil. the only thing i can think of is that the northern end of the bed is slightly higher than the southern end so maybe the water is running away faster?? my geraniums in the same bed are having the same problem.

Answer: Hi Brett, Drainage is very important so make sure that you check that this is ok….the gardenias in the sun have also had a tough summer so perhaps a good feed, try some dynamic lifter…although gardenias will grow in full sun they really love half a days sun (morning sun)the best. I hope this helps
