Angela
planted 3 Lilly pilly plants in pots one is dying. It has white mushroom type things growing in the soil.

The other two seem to have new leaves growing. What could it be? They all have been watered and are in the same place on my patio.

Answer: Hi Angela,

Thank you for contacting us regarding your Lilly Pilly. It’s hard to say exactly what caused the death of your plant without getting into details of your local weather, watering and fertilising ets. White mushroom could associate with Armillaria root rot, however, it may just the normal mushroom that’s not harmful. I would also suggest you to check your potting mix if there are any infestation of curl grubs, they are the larvae stage of beetles and feeding on plants roots. If you have any further questions, or perhaps think there might be other potential factors at play here, please don’t heritage to contact us again.

Hope this helps and happy gardening.

Best Regards,
Louise
