Our passionfruit has lots of foliage but only 1 large green fruit. Any tips on picking, pruning and feeding?

There is a lot of dense foliage, which grows extremly fast. How agressively should we prune it? We also have only 1 large fruit which shows no sign of turning purple. Does it ripen on the vine? Finally, what feed is best to maximise fruit?

Answer: Hi Jon,
There are different varieties of passionfruit and not all will ripen to a purple colour. Panama red and yellow produce a slightly larger fruit. Apply a fertiliser such as Thrive Flower and Fruit which contains high potassium to help promote flower and fruiting. Watch out for possums and white cockatoos who will eat both the flowers and developing fruit.

Next Spring apply some blood and bone or Dynamic Lifter.
The single passionfruit may not ripen as the weather is cooling down. Prune the vine during winter.

Does the vine have sufficient sun and water?
