Answer: Hello Betty,

Your description does sound like a case of blossom end rot. This is caused by a calcium deficiency in the tree, typically brought on by inadequate calcium availability in the soil, or inadequate irrigation.

To address this for the sake of future crops, apply some Yates Garden Lime and water deeply and regularly as necessary for your tree’s particular situation (more water if in sandy soil and a raised bed, for example). Also ensure you are using a complete fertiliser longer term, we recommend Dynamic Lifter Plus Fruit Food.
