My gardenia flowers are getting small.the leafs are yellow and have black mould and brown spots.How to fix it.

Answer: Your gardenias are most probably suffering an attack of scale and sooty mould. Scale, a sap sucking insect,exudes honeydew which attracts a black fungus, sooty mould. If the scale is controlled, the sooty mould doesn’t have any food source so it will disappear. Use Confidor or Pest Oil. An application of Yates Dynamic Lifter Camellia, Azalea and Rhododendron fertiliser during spring will perk up your plant. If the gardenia is growing as a potted specimen you may wish to apply Garden Gold.
