How do I grow Tuckeroo and encourage lateral branches
I bought the tree so it would provide shade. Currently it only goes straight up and has not developed any side branches. I planted it about 2-4 months ago. Am I better off taking it back and getting another one with more side shoots? I have seen smaller trees than mine around that have a lot more side growth action and I am a little worried. DO not want to wait around for years and then up with a tree that goes straight up and does not branch out much.
You have planted an extremely healthy plant. The existing lateral branches may be small but they will soon develop into stronger lateral branches once the warm weather is here and the plant starts to put on more growth. Give your tree monthly applications of Yates Dynamic Lifter Liquid Concentrate to help it to settle in and encourage the roots to develop further. When spring arrives, apply Dynamic Lifter Soil Improver and Fertiliser Pellets to keep your tree growing strongly.
