I have many bare spots in my buffalo lawn. Is there any seed i can use to fix this which will blend well with buffalo grass?

Lawns • Lawn

Buffalo is only available as rolled/instant turf. This is because it is too difficult to propagate from, and harvest, buffalo seed. There are no lawn seeds that will perfectly blend with buffalo.

For large bare patches, it is best to patch the area with rolled buffalo turf that has been cut to size.
1. Mow the area first
2. Using a leaf rake, rake up any dead material then either collect or pick up using the mower
3. Topdress the bare patch with a sandy loam lawn topdressing mix
4. Cut turf to size
5. Position, then lightly press down
6. Keep well watered

For small patches, simply keep the lawn healthy to encourage new growth:
1. Mow the area first
2. Using a leaf rake, rake up any dead material then either collect or pick up using the mower
3. Topdress the bare patch with a sandy loam lawn topdressing mix
4. Keep well watered
5. Fertilise the entire lawn, including the bare patches, with Yates Buffalo Pro Controlled Release Fertiliser
