How do I prune a Robina Mop Top
My husband, who really knows nothing about gardening decided to prune our large mop top. He pruned it very hard, ie: the truck and 3 branches (of about 10 cm length x 15 cm diameter) off the trunk is all that remains. Do you think it will grow back from here? I dont know anything about gardening myself, but it's hard to imagine that this tree might recover from such harsh pruning??!!
Hello,
Despite the harsh pruning, theres every chance your tree will grow back. However, if the tree is grafted and pruned back too hard then there is also a possibility the understock on which the plant was grafted may regrow and take over.
