Apricot Tree Diseases

My Apricot tree last season had a really bad case of freckle as well mite or rust. I have sprayed my tree today with lime sulphur to eradicate what looks like a really bad mite infestation which I have included a couple of photos. Should i have waited till the leaves had dropped off as Im worried now I have done this at the wrong time.

The apricot tree looks like it has rust - this is a fungal issue.  We recommend placing all the leaves in the bin to reduce the spread of infection.
The Lime Sulfur should be applied when the apricot tree is dormant, prior to bud swell.  Apply in winter time for effective prevention.
Unfortunately, we do not have a treatment for this issue in our range when apricot trees are in full leaf.
