When is the best time to transplant a Red Hot Poker plant and how do I do this

I need to move a couple of plants and don't want to kill them.

Hi John,

Red Hot Pokers flower in summer so the best time to move them is after flowering ie Autumn/Winter. If you want to move them now do it as soon as possible to ensure they will flower this summer. They prefer free draining soil and sun through to part shade. I have attached the Tesselars information page for your interest. http://www.tesselaar.net.au/growingguides/red_hot_pokers.asp
