Back the bark it revealed the following. How do I treat it and will it effect the other lily pillys around it.. thanks

Looks like the tree is suffering from rot. Try to remove any of the affected bark or branches, spray the whole tree with 'Yates Anti Rot'. It is a systemic fungicide which is absorbed by the foliage and travels down to the roots, can be used on various plants to control phytophthora root rot, crown rot and collar rot.
