Our almond tree was loaded with nuts last year but the nuts disappeared in a matter of days well before harvest time. I am not sure but would birds or possum have got to them there was no evidence left on ground under tree and no leaves were eaten either. Hope you can help.

I am wondering whether your almond tree got to the point where the hulls began to dry and shrivel and then split to reveal the shell. Birds are a major problem, particularly galahs who can wipe out a crop in a short period of time. You will probably need to net your tree from late summer to early autumn when you would be harvesting your crop. Good luck for the coming season.
