Sow into trays of Yates Seed Raising Mix. Firm down and keep moist. Transplant when about 7cm high.
Choose a sunny, well-drained position. Plant in a different garden bed each year to avoid soil-borne diseases. Add Yates Blood & Bone before planting. Cut the centre head before flowers open. Protect from snails and slugs with Yates Blitzem. Control leaf-eating grubs with a Yates caterpillar killer (Success or Dipel) or a Yates Vegetable Dust (Derris).
Great companion plant for beans, beets, tomatoes, cucumber and potatoes.
