Produces a heavy crop of long, well-filled pods under most conditions. Steamed Broad Beans make an excellent addition to many hot dishes. Young pods can be sliced, cooked and eaten as a green vegetable.
Sow direct where they are to grow in cultivated, well drained soil. Make a trench 4cm deep and 15cm wide. Sow seeds at 15cm intervals along each side of trench. Cover with soil and water well Do not water again until seedlings emerge
Choose a sunny, well-drained position that's protected from strong winds. For best results prepare soil by digging in Yates Lime and Sulphate of Potash If low temperatures are experienced in early spring, some bud drop may occur. This is natural and new flowers will quickly follow. Plants may need some support as they can reach 2 metre in height. Protect from snails and slugs with Yates Blitzem
Great companion plant for cabbage, cauliflower, lettuce, potatos & spinach. Avoid overwatering - seeds may rot before germination if soil is too wet.
Store in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
