Three generations of the Munns family.
Munns, established in Adelaide by the late Brian Munn in 1948 have the highest quality of weed free seeds and a minimum germination of 85% with maximum germination of 99.9%.
The latest varieties are selected from tests carried out by Rutgers University, U.S.A. The tests are carried out over many years and only those varieties that have grown well under climates and soils similar to Australia are chosen.
These varieties are then trialled at various locations across Australia before being released to the Australian public. Note: Emerald Kikuyu is bred in Australia.

To make the world a greener place.
To successfully produce and market environmentally intelligent horticultural products that meet the challenges of diverse weather conditions nationally through innovation and quality - of service and product.
In 1948, the late Brian Munn founded Munns Lawn Company Pty Ltd and in over 70 years it has become one of Australia’s best-known brands, with a reputation for innovation, quality and service. Its products are distributed through a wide retail network that includes hardware stores nationally, supermarkets, garden centres and nurseries.
Brian Munn’s objective was to ensure top quality lawns by seeking out the best varieties of lawn grass for domestic as well as commercial use. Through trial and research Munns have created a range of lawn grasses that flourish in Australia’s harsh and diverse weather conditions, where temperature variations range between 2 – 50 degrees centigrade in a single state.

Brian's daughter Julie Munn who started working for Munns in 1961, took over from her Dad when he retired in 1982 as Managing Director until 2016. Julie made the decision to take Munns National in 1990. The company had expanded into a multi-million dollar enterprise in which the lawn and garden care product range include lawn seeds, organic lawn and garden fertilisers, boosters and wetting agents. The Munns wetting agent product will not harm the environment.
In 2016 Munns joined the Yates family and they're proudly upholding the Munns commitment to quality in all lawn care products.
