I have a gooseberry bush growing once the fruit was starting to ripen it started to be attacked. I have looked and it is either a colaroda beetle or 3 striped beetle how do i get rid of the bug
Hi Karen,
It appears that your gooseberry bush is being attacked by the 3 line potato beetle.
There is not a product that is registered to control this particular beetle but Yates Pyrethrum Insect Pest Killer Concentrate which is a natural insecticide is registered for use on edible crops. It is a contact spray which ensure the rapid knockdown of pests. There is a 1 day withholding period for this product.
Hand removal (if possible) is also an option.
