Application advice for Yates Lime Sulfur on Grape Vines

The timing of applying Lime and Sulphur insect and disease control.

I have purchased your Lime Sulphur insect and disease control to use on my grape vines. I make wine from them. Your instructions say to apply at bud burst. Does it do any harm to apply now? I have lost my crop of grapes for this year and wondered if an early application (now) along with a bud burst application would be ok?

Fruit and Citrus • Pests

We can not recommend to apply Yates Lime Sulfur to Grape vinesunless they are at bud burst.
There are various possible reasons why a product is not registered for a particular purpose including:
- product was proven to be most effective only in a particular situation
- the product was not tested in another situation
- the product caused plant injury in a situation

According to Australian regulations, all pesticides and herbicides must be registered by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) - Australian Government. Once registered, a product can only be used according to the product's label instructions. The label instructions specify the situation, plant and pest/disease the product can be used for.

The APVMA (Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority) is the governing body for chemical use in Australia. If it is not on the label, then we legally can't recommend to use the product in any other way than what is stated on the label.
