Controlling large infestation of Qld Hemp (Sida).

I have recently purchased a property in the Kangaroo Valley. Around an acre is infested with Qld Hemp. I would like to control the hemp and allow the kikuyu grass to regrow. One thought is to cut back with a mulching head and spray the regrowth. Advice appreciated.
