Hi Jen,

Thank you for contacting Yates.

Very few flowering tree can do well in full shade, you may check the following trees and shrubs that may tolerant light shade:
You may consider the following plants:
- Azalea
- Camelia
- Gardenia
- Lillypilly
- Flowering Dogwood

- Red Buds

I suggest improving soil before planting by digging in some Yates Dynamic Lifter Soil Improver & Plant Fertiliser, which is a manure based, certified organic fertiliser, and will provide all the nutrients (nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus) for your plants need to grow and thrive.

Hope this helps and happy gardening :)
