Pots versus beds in the yellow pear cherry tomato growoff

Scuba78Steve is talking about growing Tomato from Melbourne

Just starting off...

I absolutely love the yellow pear cherry tomato which I have been growing for a few years now. Its a summer staple in our salads and pastas.

My seedlings have been a bit slow off the mark this year but I have planted them out today into the new veggie patch (now full of dirt) which I blogged about on day 69 of the challenge. I used a lot of mushroom compost to help sweeten the soil in the garden bed.

I ran out of room in this row so I planted a couple of the other left over seedlings into pots with just some cheap commercial potting mix, so it will be interesting to compare how they do. Im tipping the yields will be much higher in the garden beds.
