When would I prune my roses I am in Perth Wa

Just wanting to know when I would prune my roses I am in Perth WA and also I have a lot of black spot on the leaves, how would I get rid of these? Thanks

Answer: Hi Sarah,
Unless you are in a frost prone area you can prune your roses in July. After pruning, dispose of the cuttings and any leaves that have black spot on them to help stop the spread of the disease. Do not put any diseased leaves into the compost bin.
When the weather warms up and new foliage appears spray with Rose Shield or Rose Gun to help stop black spot developing.
