Glenda
Have you a solution to rose scale? My roses become covered in them. Thank you.

We live on the far north coast of NSW so roses probably aren't the best idea but they are so lovely! I only have three Violina roses and from time to time I rub try to rub the scale off with a toothbrush but they come back very quickly. Is there a regime I could follow to stop them. Thank you.

Answer: Hi Glenda,
There are a couple of things you can do for your roses, a winter spray of lime sulphur in the winter is a good start. Your roses with be dormant at this point and will also like a good prune, you can follow up in the spring with pest oil if you find that you still have a scale issue but its best to build it up with some organic food like dynamic lifter and some sulpahte of potash
I hope this helps
