Medium_rose_scale_ Scale, mites & rust on rose

I have a very old climbing rose I have just pruned it today & noticed it has a very bad scale it also has mites & rust,
I have your products White Oil & Rose Shield,
when I read the labels I think they will treat the problem.
My question is firstly is that correct & how should I apply them together or separately & if so at what time frame.
or is there another product
Thanks
Philip

Answer: The best product to clean up overwintering scale and mite insects and various diseases on roses is Lime sulphur.
This product should be applied immediately after pruning roses in winter.
Since you have already pruned and applied white oil, you cannot use the Lime sulphur for 4 weeks.
By this time, I’m sure there will be new growth on the roses so use the lesser spray rate to correct these problems because the rate recommended for dormant plants will, no doubt, burn new shoots.
