When is the best time to plant roses I live in Mornington Victoria

Answer: That depends on what type of rose you are planting. If you are planting a bare rooted rose (with no leaves and usually the roots are packed in a type of sawdust) is best to plant when they are dormant. This is usually from autumn to spring, although it is best not plant when the ground is sodden from rain or when the ground is frozen from frosts.

Potted roses can be planted out at anytime of the year. Although if you are planting in the middle of summer you should provide the plant with some shade until it has established.
